Why Complete Hockey Culford?

Quality over quantity - all of our coaching camps and coaching sessions are limited in size to ensure that all participants get the maximum possible benefit of attending! We run with coach to player ratios as low as 1:4 and a maximum of 1:9.

We have a hugely experienced coaching team who have vast experience coaching from u9 level to Senior International level. We have coaches with experience of playing/coaching at at least u21 International level on every camp, with many of them currently involved at Senior International level.

We have an off pitch manager at every camp, who looks after all registrations, off pitch supervision, lunchtimes, pick up, drop offs and much more!

All our camps include specialist hockey goalkeeper training.

Suffolk Hockey Camps

  • High Performance Camps

    Whether aspiring to play in your School’s highest teams or gain selection at Talent Academy or International level, the High Performance camps can take you to the next level.

    These camps are the perfect environment to learn and develop the skills for 11-a-side hockey and are aimed at 13-17 year olds.

    All camps include:

    World Class technical and tactical coaching from Senior International coaches

    Advanced technical skills - incorporating all the technical skills currently used in international hockey

    1 to 1 coaching session on a technical skill of your choice

    Small unit game play scenarios

    Position specific coaching of technical and tactical requirements

    Tactical Decision Making and game play understanding

    Specialist Skill Development - aerial, drag flicking, slide passing, ball carrying etc

    11-a-Side game play

    Development of Penalty Corner skills

    Specialist Goalkeeper coaching

    High Performance Camps are limited to 30 participants.

  • Origin Camps

    Origin camps are open to 9-13 year old players of all abilities from beginners to more experienced. Designed specifically for younger developing players to improve their technical skill base, tactical understanding and those looking to take their hockey performance to another level.

    Included in the camp:

    7hrs of coaching per day from high level players / coaches

    Technical skill sessions focusing on basic and intermediate skills

    Technical skill assault courses

    Intra camp tournaments

    Rage in a Cage tournament

    Small unit game play to develop abilities in 1v1 defence and creating overloads in attack

    Specialist Goalkeeper coaching

    Coaches demonstrations

    Origin Camps are limited to 55 participants.

FAQs

What are the timings of the Camps?

Our Origin and High Performance Camps run from 9am - 5pm. Drop off for all camps is from 8.45am

Who will be coaching at the camps?

All of our camps are designed, planned and run by our Directors of Coaching who are both current International coaches.

Between them our two Directors of Coaching have over 30 years of experience coaching from u7 to Senior International level.

We have coaches with international coaching experience at either playing or coaching u21 or Senior level at every camp.

A full list of coaches at the camps will be emailed prior to each camp starting.

Do you provide playing equipment?

All children attending should provide their own hockey stick, shin pads, mouthguard, left hand glove (if appropriate) and suitable footwear and clothing.

Goalkeepers should provide their own GK equipment.

How much coaching time will there be?

Our Origin and High Performance Camps have 7hrs of coaching per day,

Do my children have to wear shinpads and mouthguards?

All participants in our sessions must wear shin pads and a mouthguard. Your child will not be able to participate in game play if they do not have the appropriate protective equipment. If they forget their mouthguard, we can provide them with a self moulding mouthguard, this will be provided at a cost of £10.

What about lunch and snacks?

For our full day camps, your child should bring a packed lunch and snacks with them. They should also bring a re-fillable water bottle.
